The Philadelphia Flyers could get a much-needed boost on the blueline tomorrow, as defenseman Kimmo Timonen is expected to return to the lineup much earlier than originally anticipated. The news for fellow defender Barydon Coburn, however, isn’t as positive, as new-found concussion-like symptoms have derailed a quick revocery.
The Penguins continue their trend of signing top-notch prospects that began earlier this season with Dustin Jeffrey and Luca Caputi.

After watching their team fall to the Flyers in Philadelphia last night, Pittsburgh Penguins fans are lining up at the bridge. Apparently short memories are a common problem in the Steel City.
The Pittsburgh Penguins once again squandered the chance to close out an opponent, and lost the game due to a horrendous first period against the New York Rangers Philadelphia Flyers.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins defeated the Portland Pirates, 2-0 last night. The Penguins have a 1-0 lead on the series and take the ice for game 2 tonight.

Minus some hefty wads of cash in their pockets, will we see a continuation of the Ribiero-Osgood spat? Or will the Stars just focus on putting pucks behind the Wings to get back in the series? Game 3 is just around the corner.
The Pittsburgh Penguins extended their series lead 2-0 with goals from Sidney Crosby, Marian Hossa, Max Talbot, and Jordan Staal. The Flyers brought a much better game to Mellon Arena Sunday Night, but it was not enough to stifle a determined and skilled Penguins team.
There were three goals scored in the first period and none the rest of the way. The Red Wings played solid defense and got their second straight win to move the series to Dallas with a 2-0 lead.
The Americans were jobbed today in their game against Finland at the World Championships. Coach Tortorella should have plenty to say to the media.
